Working with biohazards

The activities carried out by certain labor sectors lead to workers being exposed to risks related to biological agents such as: viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi; present both in the environment and in living beings, with which the worker can come into contact through the skin, mucous membranes, respiratory and oral routes.

The risk can also be caused due to allergic reactions when coming into contact with plants and animals, which emit irritating, allergic or toxic substances. According to the above, the participant of this course must be able to identify said agents, their nature, mode of propagation, transmission and from there, design, implement and evaluate necessary measures that contribute to eliminate or minimize the risks. biological type to which the worker is exposed. For this reason, this learning experience adapted to the virtual modality is presented, following the guidelines of a seminar in order to facilitate the construction of knowledge. It is important to bear in mind that the obligation to prevent biological risk in the workplace consists of taking measures to avoid damage to health caused by biological agents present in any workplace, applying the principles of preventive action.

This is what is proposed to review in this seminar, considering not only the country’s regulations but also those of other countries to make us more and more global citizens.
